Concerto Vocale Foundation suspends relationship with conductor Julian Wachner

Concerto Vocale Foundation has suspended it’s relationship with conductor Julian Wachner after learning that he was arrested on Aug. 21, 2025 by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department on one count of child exploitation by virtue of pornography possession of someone who appears under 18. “It is in the best interests of the Foundation and its community to separate from Mr. Wachner at this time,” said Foundation spokesman Brad Goldstein. “We have not been approached by police and have no indication that this charge involves his work at the Foundation.” Wachner was hired in September 2024 to conduct and record cantatas by JS Bach in strict accord with Bach’s own written instructions known as the Bach Entwurff.
